What comes in a bag?
About 25 pieces of prime seasoned oak, in a heavy duty bag with sturdy straps. The Standard Bag has 16 to 17 inch pieces. The Solo Stove Bag has 10 to 12 inch pieces. Customers keep their bags in the garage or outside and grab one when they need it.
What's the difference between Ember Prime and kiln dried wood?
Ember is fully seasoned and is guaranteed to burn every bit as clean as kiln dried wood for a fraction of the price. A kiln allows you to take green wood and fully season it in 3 days. Since Ember Prime is already fully seasoned, we don't have to charge you a premium because it wasn't purchased from a processor and dried in a kiln.
What type of wood do you use?
We source firewood from repurposed, untreated crosstie timbers, primarily red and white oak. This provides excellent heat output and a long, clean burn. The wood is naturally seasoned and guaranteed to burn.
How is the wood seasoned?
Our wood is naturally seasoned over several months. The crossties are already seasoned when they reach our processor in spring and summer. After processing into manageable pieces, the wood sits for additional months to ensure optimal moisture content for clean burning.
What are your delivery areas?
We deliver to Mountain Brook, Homewood, Vestavia Hills, Hoover, Forest Park, Avondale, Crestwood, Irondale, Leeds, and Trussville. If you're unsure whether we serve your area, please contact us!
Is there a delivery fee?
No. Delivery is included in the price. The price you see is the price you pay.
How soon can you deliver?
We deliver on the first open day, usually within a few days. In a quiet week that can be two days out. Before a freeze it takes longer. We email you the day before with your delivery day. We cannot give a time of day.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Yes. Call 205-725-9598. Cancel at least 1 day before your delivery day and you get a full refund. After that, call us and we will work it out. To move your delivery to another day, call and we will find the next open day.
What is the minimum order for delivery?
Bag types can be mixed. An order with any Standard Bags needs at least 6 bags in total. An order of Solo Stove Bags only needs at least 4. There is no minimum on a Full Truckload or Half Truckload.
Is stacking included?
Yes. Stacking is always included with truckloads, at no extra charge. Our crew stacks the wood where you want it.
How should I store my firewood?
Store your firewood in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep it off the ground and covered from rain while allowing air circulation. This will maintain the wood's low moisture content and ensure optimal burning.
Can I pick up my order instead of delivery?
Please contact us to discuss pickup options. We primarily focus on delivery service to ensure convenience for our customers.
